We are the Kiwanis Club of Winchester, Virginia; a non-profit service club that is part of Kiwanis International.

The Kiwanis International mission is to “Change the world one community and one child at a time” and that is certainly the philosophy of our local club. We work throughout the year to raise funds so that we can distribute them back out to good causes and individuals in need.

Winchester Kiwanis members and local law enforcement team up to pack food for the Bright Futures program.

What is Kiwanis?

Six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis Club delegates at their 1924 convention in Denver Colorado and have remained unchanged since then.

  1. To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
  2. To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
  3. To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
  4. To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, serviceable citizenship.
  5. To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
  6. To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

Here is a quick video that explains what Kiwanis is.
