Benefits and Requirements of Membership
When you join Kiwanis, you become part of an international organization of individuals who give their talent and time to those in need. Communities are improved, friendships are created, leadership skills are developed and business contacts are made. Most importantly, the lives of children in our community and around the world are changed for the better.
New Winchester Kiwanis members bring with them fresh energy, new ideas and the enthusiasm needed to keep our Club vital and moving forward with our work. Membership is open to anyone of good character, who is personable and has a desire to be an active part of our community. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, or handicap.
The Kiwanis Club of Winchester meets weekly. On average, our members invest about six hours each month by participating in meetings, projects, and volunteer community activities. There is a modest induction fee, and members contribute annual dues to the club, part of which is used to support Kiwanis International.
How to Join
To join Kiwanis contact any member of our Club. If you don’t know a member, e-mail us through our Contact Us page and we will have a member contact you directly. That person will provide you with information about our activities and invite you to attend several of our luncheon meetings to give you an up-close opportunity to see what Kiwanis is all about.
If your interest in joining continues, your host will provide you with a Membership Application and initiate the consideration of your candidacy. If approved for membership, you will be asked to pay a modest induction fee of $50 prior to your initiation. Thereafter, you will be required to pay annual dues (currently $150) and maintain a reasonable degree of activity in our Club. (Your Host member will provide you with an Attendance guideline.)
